Many guitarists learn the pentatonic minor scale position 1, but don't ever learn to do much with it. Sometimes they'll go on to learn the other 4 positions of the pentatonic scale and only become more confused. They don't know what notes to play, what order to play them in, they don't have any good ideas for beginning a lead solo. They don't know how to do run, how to phrase or how to play guitar licks.

Group lessons add a level of learning that can’t be obtained from 1 on 1 private lessons. Group lessons amplify the teaching process, offer a sense of community and add variety to the lesson format.

In group lessons your motivation, enthusiasm, inspiration, commitment and results will all increase. Private lessons don’t offer the experience of playing with and in front of other people which is critical to overcoming stage fright.

I've been living in Indianapolis for 6 months. I meet new people all the time. They sometimes ask me what I do for a living. The simple answer is that I teach guitar. Often they just give me a blank look and they don't know what to say next, so then I give them more detail. It's usually something like this:

     First of all, I love technology. I love the Internet, learning online and I love Skype. I taught English as a Second language on Skype for several years. That being said, I don't like to teach guitar over Skype. There are a lot of guitar teachers who, in order to gain more students, offer gutiar lessons using a web cam. I personally believe that many of these people are not qualified guitar teachers.
